He needed to become powerful, rich, and intimidating. Obsessed with the idea of revenge upon Edgar, Heathcliff was engulfed in a fit of rage. He realized he needed to formulate a plan of action. He entered London and walked around searching for the type of people he had a deep seeded hatred for, the type of person he wanted to become....
And in a dimly lit tavern he found Mr. Minton. Minton was an infamous cobblestone walker (if you get the hint). Mr. Minton was disgustingly wealthy, he owned several estates and servants. Heathcliff went to him to learn the ways of Mr. Minton's trade. Heathcliff learned.....
